OUT MY WINDOW
Lyrics and music by Sawyer Fredericks
Looking out my window
See the ground
I'm falling down
This will all be over
Tired of this world
I'm leaving now
Looking out my window
Sun is just coming down
And as I'm falling
And as I'm falling
I turn around
Look at the life
I live in
And I know there's
People who love me
Too many people
Who don't
Looking out my window
See the ground
I'm falling down
This will all be over
One more step
And it is done
And as I'm falling
And as I'm falling
I turn around
Look at the life
I live in
And I know there's people
Who love me
Too many people who don't
Looking out my window
Sun is just coming down
I'm coming down
I'm coming down

"I feel I need to tell you a little about this song, because you can imagine how hard it is to hear your child sing a song he's written about suicidal thoughts. Sawyer and I have been following the heartbreaking stories in the news about the many teen suicides, some by gay teens, by kids who were apparently bullied. He watched me just sob during the last episode of Glee, when Karofsky attempts suicide, because I knew this fictional character was based on things that were happening in real life across our country. The next day, Sawyer was in his room playing guitar and writing this song. He is a painfully empathetic young man, and I think this song is just his way of trying to understand the emotions someone would feel at that lowest moment. He kind of taps into the emotions and becomes that person through song. So Sawyer's fine- just a very emotionally deep child musician.")
